Tania wished for her cottage to be transformed in a traditional way rather than having it completely modernised. To achieve this, the team at H&R raised the bedroom ceiling by 6 inches to create a vaulted ceiling with oak beams inserted. Furthermore, we exposed the chimney breast in order to restored it as well as installed an antique hearth and fittings. To add to the traditional theme, we fitted handmade bi-folding doored wardrobes which had an antique stain on the doors, adding real character and warmth to the room.

As well as this, the team at H&R refurbished the old stairway which can only be really appreciated by comparing the past with the present. To achieve this, the old partition wall was completely removed which opened up the ground floor to a size that is hard to recognise. The materials selected complimented this traditional design concept and as a result, the entire stairway in now lit up with ‘mood’ lighting fixtures.
